- Students will be introduced to principles of earthquake resistant design.

- Students will understand characteristics & causes of earthquakes.
- Students will understand how earthquake ground motions are measured.
- Students will understand how linear elastic & inelastic systems respond to earthquake excitations.
- Students will understand wave propagation theory.
