AT 6100 - Orthopedic Diagnosis


This course emphasizes evidence-based diagnosis and management of orthopedic conditions, the inter-relatedness of the neuromuscular system, and enhances the students’ current diagnostic skills.

Requisites: Master of Science in Athletic Training Major
Credit Hours: 3

Learning Outcomes:
  • Demonstrate improved diagnostic decision making with an emphasis on differential diagnosis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply Clinical Decision Rules (CDRs) to patient care.
  • Incorporate contemporary evidence into the diagnostic process and describe the key measures of the efficacy of various special tests (e.g., sensitivity, specificity, likelihood ratios, inter- and intra-rater reliability).
