FILM 2020 - Introduction to Film: Film Analysis Introduction to film analysis, with emphasis on formal aspects of film art such as sound, lighting, mise-en-scene, etc. Weekly screenings.

- Demonstrate through coursework, essays, and exams an understanding of the art of the motion picture and the creative processes inherent within. Be able to utilize an appropriate vocabulary to evaluate and analyze the motion picture as an art form.
- Greater understanding of the visual strategies (cinematography, mise-en-scene) used in the making of a motion picture.
- Greater understanding of use of sound in motion pictures.
