IHS 5240 - Overview of Healthcare Advocacy
This course provides an overview of healthcare advocacy, which includes assistance in: understanding diagnoses, prognoses, and outcomes;
financing medical care; seeking medical care that meets accepted standards, informed choices (ethical issues); culturally relevant healthcare; sufficient preventative care; and links to health-related programs and services in the community, including mental health/substance abuse services.
