EDHE 7880 - Policy Perspectives in Higher Education
Provides a context for the study of higher education policy and the policy-making process at the national and state level in the United States. It provides students with an overview of the role of federal government, state governors, legislatures, governing and coordinating boards, non-government agencies, lobbyists, and “the public” as they contribute to public policy for postsecondary education. Specifically, emphasis will be given to policy research, policy analysis, the roles of values and interest groups, equality of educational opportunity, systemic reform and implementation, and the politics of education.
