EDEC 6640 - Advanced Child Development
Major issues in child development examined in light of current research and theoretical formulations. Cognitive and social-emotional development, the role of early experience, language acquisition, the origin and importance of play, moral development, and media influences examined from several theoretical points of view, including learning theory, social cognitive theory, Piagetian and Vygotskian constructivism, ecological systems theory, and psychoanalysis.
