NRSE 7211 - Advanced Pharmacology and Pathophysiology for Nurse Educators


Focuses on integration of advanced pathophysiology and pharmacology principles. Focuses on analysis of select pathophysiological clinical manifestations related to disease states, pharmacological and herbal utilization and appropriate education related to prescribed treatment regime. Emphasis on evidence-based practice and application using concept-based educational strategies.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to describe the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, clinical and laboratory manifestations of specific disease processes.
  • Students will be able to apply general concepts of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic processes and their application in drug therapy related to specific pathophysiological states.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate evidence-based teaching strategies related to pathophysiology and pharmacology principles that reflect developmental stage, culture and spirituality.
