HLTH 6380 - Strategic Planning for Health Care Capstone course for the MHA program where students apply learning from across the curriculum in the managerial domain of strategy. Guides students through the application of the MHA program competency model for leading operational and strategic change. Focus on design and execution of strategy for competitive advantage.
Requisites: HLTH 6010, 6030, 6080, 6100, 6210, 6280, 6350, and 6480 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to develop a plan for interprofessional collaboration to engage all members of the multi-disciplinary team in operational and strategic change.
- Students will be able to analyze and recommend the preferred value discipline for creating competitive advantage for a healthcare organization.
- Students will be able to apply listening and learning methods to comprehensively solicit the Voice of the Stakeholder in organizational developments.
- Students will be able to apply financial ratio analysis to analyze financial performance of an organization and synthesize strategies for improving performance.
- Students will be able to generate strategic themes and objectives with the application of core organizational competencies and capabilities to deliver on the value proposition and garner competitive advantage.
- Students will be able to apply evidence-based management and change management in the synthesis and generation of action plans for strategic performance improvement.
- Students will be able to examine and apply the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) leadership competencies model in leading strategic and operational change.
