The Center for International Studies offers certificates in African, Asian, European, and Latin American Studies for students who wish to add an international dimension to their major, or who are interested in an international career or graduate work in area studies. The certificate is noted on your transcript upon graduation.

You must take an introductory interdisciplinary area studies course, INST 103—Asian Studies, and achieve an overall GPA of 2.5 in courses taken toward the certificate.

Additional requirements for the Asian Studies Certificate are listed below. Complete either Option A or B:

Option A

• Three courses must be in an Asian language
• Five courses, in a minimum of three disciplines, must relate to Asia

Option B

• Eight courses must relate to Asia with no language requirement
