DANC 3300 - Dance Kinesology I Introduces basic concepts of the study of the body through an overview of: the anatomy of breathing; the musculo-skeletal system; basic principles of kinesiology and their relationship to fitness training; the nature of stress and benefits of relaxation training. A somatic (body/mind) approach to the course materials draws on experiential activities to enhance conceptual and factually based materials. Explores skeletal alignment, muscular development and function, and mechanical efficiency in the production of dance movement.
