MATH 486 - Introduction to BioinformaticsMajor topics and techniques in bioinformatics, including homology searches, sequence alignment, gene finding, phylogenetic trees. The course combines biological, computational, and statistical approaches to the extraction of information from large sets of biomolecular data. Prerequisites: C OR BETTER IN (MATH 263B OR 266B) Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. |
