MATH 448 - Introduction to Waves and Wavelets with Applications

An elementary introduction to Fourier and wavelet analysis and its application in engineering, such as data analysis and signal and image analysis. Focus on understanding basic mathematical concepts and methodology, developing related numerical algorithms and their implementation. Prior experience with computer software and computer algebra systems, such as the matlab toolbox and basic computer programming skills are required.
Prerequisites: (C S 210 OR 220) & MATH (410 OR 411) & (441 OR 444)

Credit Hours: 4
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
