AAS 211 - African American Literature II

Begins where 210 ends. (However, 210 is not a prereq.) Treats African American literary expression from around 1940 to present. Writers included are Richard Wright, Margaret Walker, Gwendolyn Brooks, Ralph Ellison, James Baldwin, Amiri Baraka, Ishmael Reed, and others who have contributed to African American literary tradition.
Prerequisites: AAS 110 OR TIER I ENG
